Import consists in bringing in goods from abroad for sale in the domestic market of the importing party; is the opposite of taking goods out of the country - export; it is the bringing in of goods, works, services to the customs territory of the Russian Federation from abroad without the obligation of subsequent removal. The fact of import is recorded at the moment of the goods crossing the customs border of the Russian Federation, of receiving the services and rights to the results of intellectual activity. Export consists in taking goods, services and capital out of the country for sale in external markets. Export is a result of international division of labour and serves as a prerequisite of import; income from exports is the principal source of means of funds to pay for imports. The fact of export is recorded at the moment of the goods crossing the border of a country or the provision of services to a foreign partner.
